A Visitors Guide

• Hand gel To help us prevent the spread of infection, please use the hand gel when entering and leaving the clinical areas. Children should only use the gel under parental supervision.

• Two visitors per patient. To help our patients recover and to respect other patients on the ward, we always ask visitors to keep the number of people at the patient’s bedside to a maximum of two at a time. Always speak to a member of staff on the ward if you are unsure.

• Children. Parents and guardians – please note that it is your responsibility to look after any children you bring into the hospital when visiting. Please do not allow them to run around or touch any machinery or equipment.

• Sitting on the bed. Please do not sit on a patient’s bed. This could cause cross infection. There are chairs available within the ward areas for you to use.

• Machinery and equipment. Please do not touch any of the machinery or equipment that is around any patient’s bed.

• Telephones and mobile devices. Please turn off / make it silent all mobile devices on entering in the hospital.
